About this role
I am currently working with a specialist engineering company who require an additional Welder/Fabricator for both workshop manufacturing and site installation/maintenance. The company are a leader in the field of waste management and recycling.
The role:
In this Welder/Fabricator role you will be responsible for fabricating, installing, maintaining and decommissioning waste management, recycling and incinerating plant.
- Making, repairing and refurbishing plant to high standards
- TIG, MIG and Stick welding
- Working with Aluminium, Mild Steel and Stainless Steel
- Fabricating metal items by cutting, bending, and shaping materials using various fabrication techniques and machinery
- Assembling metal parts
- Inspecting completed welds
- Carrying out planned and breakdown maintenance on waste management, recycling and incinerating plant
- Carrying out site installation and repairs
- Working closely with the engineering and design team to accurately interpret project requirements
The candidate we are looking for will have:
- Relevant experience in welding and fabrication
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in MIG, TIG and STIK welding and with a thorough understanding of different welding techniques and processes
- Recognised welding certifications i.e. NVQ2
- Understanding of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, bending, shaping etc
- Familiarity with different types of metals and alloys
- Experience operating fabrication machinery, such as shears, brakes, punches etc
- Experience working with aluminium
- Able to read and interpret drawings and technical documents
- A valid CSCS card
- Driving licence
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able and willing to travel to site and potentially stay overnight
